FAQ

What does Starfights cost?

Nothing. Starfights is free and has no pay-to-win: there are no purchases, no premium currency and no ads.

How do I sign in?

Through the Midnight Syntax player portal. One portal account lets you play all of the portal's games; there is no separate password for Starfights.

How do I start?

After your first sign-in you choose your race and get your home planet with starting resources. Then you upgrade mines, research and commission your first ships.

Which races are there?

Five: Tirashkar (+10% attack), Lidatier (+10% defense), Nalmenen (−10% research time), Kolinar (−5% build time) and Padurein (+10% resource yield). You choose your race at the start.

Can I be attacked right from the start?

No. Up to 500 points you can neither attack nor be attacked. After that you can only reach opponents between a third and three times your points – and only they can reach you.

Can I play with friends?

Yes. Found an alliance or join one – with roles, invitations, applications and an alliance chat that runs live.

How do alliance wars work?

One alliance declares war on another. Then follow seven days of preparation, fourteen days of war with its own war score, and seven days of cooldown.

Can I trade with other players?

Yes, on the marketplace. You offer one resource for another, and whoever accepts trades with you directly. Five percent of every trade is lost as a fee; an offer stays up for seven days.

How many planets can I own?

Ten – and one more with every level of the Empire Administration research. You settle new planets with the colony ship.

How does a battle work?

A battle lasts at most three rounds and involves no chance. With the battle simulator you can work it out beforehand. Destroyed ships and defenses leave a debris field you can collect.

How are ranking points earned?

From your buildings and research. There are overall, planet and research rankings, plus a ranking of alliances.

What happens at the end of a round?

Starfights is played in rounds. At the end the universe starts over and everyone begins on equal terms again. Your player portal account stays.

Yes. Starfights runs in your phone's browser and can be added to your home screen as an app.

Which languages is Starfights available in?

English and German. You switch the language in the game.

What do I do about a rule violation?

Report it right at the message or in the alliance chat. Moderators review the report and can issue a warning or request a ban. Bans are decided in the player portal, where you can also appeal.
